Who we are

Rumo Sinks operates rumosinks.co.uk. We are the "data controller" for the personal information described in this policy — meaning we decide how and why it's used.

Registered address / warehouse: Unit 26 Nile Mill A, Fields New Road, Oldham, OL9 8NH.

The information we collect

We collect information in a few different ways:

  • When you place an order: your name, delivery and billing address, email, phone number, and payment details (processed securely by our payment provider — we never see or store your full card details).
  • When you contact us: whatever you tell us — typically your name, email, phone number, and the content of your message.
  • When you browse our site: technical information like your IP address, browser type, and pages viewed, largely through cookies. See our Cookies Policy for full detail.

We don't collect any more than we need for the purpose in question, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

How we use your information

We use your information for the following purposes, and only where we have a valid legal basis to do so:

What we do Why we're allowed to (legal basis)
Process and deliver your order, handle returns and refunds Necessary to fulfil our contract with you
Respond to your questions or support requests Necessary to fulfil our contract with you, or our legitimate interest in providing good service
Send you marketing emails about products or offers Your consent — you can withdraw this at any time
Analyse how our website is used, and improve it Your consent (for non-essential cookies), or our legitimate interest
Prevent fraud and keep our site secure Our legitimate interest, and in some cases a legal obligation
Keep financial records for tax and accounting Legal obligation

Who we share your information with

We don't sell your personal information. We do share it with a small number of trusted parties who help us run the business:

  • Shopify — our ecommerce platform, which hosts our store and processes orders on our behalf.
  • Shopify Payments and PayPal — to process your payment securely. We don't see or store your full card details.
  • Royal Mail — to deliver your order, we share your name, delivery address, and contact details with them.
  • Google Analytics — to understand how visitors use our site, where you've consented to analytics cookies.
  • Meta (Facebook/Instagram) — through the Meta Pixel, to measure and improve our advertising, where you've consented to targeting cookies. This may include limited data-sharing with Meta for advertising purposes; you can control this at any time through our cookie banner.

We may also share information where we're legally required to — for example with HMRC, or law enforcement, if compelled to do so.

Where your information is processed

Some of the providers we use, including Shopify, may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, so your information continues to receive a level of protection consistent with UK data protection law.

How long we keep your information

We keep order and transaction records for as long as required by UK tax law, typically six years. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it. Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to resolve your query, unless there's a good reason to keep them longer.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Ask us what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy of it
  • Ask us to correct information that's inaccurate or incomplete
  • Ask us to delete your information, in certain circumstances
  • Ask us to restrict how we use your information
  • Object to us using your information for certain purposes, including marketing
  • Request your information in a portable, machine-readable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where we're relying on consent (for example, marketing emails or non-essential cookies)

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. If you're not satisfied with how we've handled your information, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's independent regulator for data protection.

Keeping your information secure

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including secure (HTTPS) connections and a PCI-compliant payment process through Shopify. No online system is completely immune to risk, but we take reasonable steps to keep your data safe and limit access to it to those who need it.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies to work properly and, with your consent, to understand how it's used and show more relevant content. Full detail is in our Cookies Policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we start using a new tool or change how we handle your data. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do.
